The Chevron Whores, The Hoes that know…no matter which way you look at it, you can not ignore Australia's newest incarnation of EXPLOSIVE GUITAR ROCK. Spawned in 2002 from the decadence of Queensland's Gold Coast, The Whores have made a beeline to the hearts, minds and crotches of their native music scene. How did they do it? Easy, it's all in the music. Other bands that use sexual innuendo to promote themselves generally suck balls, but The Whores back their notoriety with a killer set, ranging from Bombastic Rhapsodies to Hard-Out Punk then all the way back again through Swirling Rock Epics.
Sure they have been flanked by masses of teenage groupies, sure they have had abuse yelled by staunch hardcore kids, but just like Jarro's lyrics say, "Love it to hate it, Just like an addiction, You can not escape it, It's all over you." Well The Whores are Loved and Hated, and still continue polarising crowds, critics and fellow musicians to this day. Of course, their advice for first timers experiencing their sound, "Screw the hype, the reputation, and what you think you might know.... See the show, listen to the music and make up your own mind. If you like it than rad, if you don’t, well, who gives a damn anyway."
Now in 2006, The Chevron Whores are gigging extensively to support there debut EP Saturday Night Sin. A mini epic based upon a single hedonistic night out in town. The kind of night that starts with a maxi-taxi into the strip and ends waking under a park bench surrounded by families having BBQ breakfast. Maybe you've been there, done that, but only The Chevron Whores could capture the whole experience in full lyrical colour and deliver it to your stereo. Cancel your next Gold Coast holiday; The Whores are bringing it home to you!!!
